Our mission is to nurture each child at Children's Homes in Korea into a responsible and fulfilled adult through comprehensive support. By pairing sponsors with children, we offer a dual-path approach: a personal connection through prayer and letter-writing and a tangible commitment of a minimum monthly donation of $35 until the child reaches adulthood. This donation, seemingly small compared to daily expenses, accumulates in a bank account in the child's name, saved for their education or housing needs upon leaving the home. As we continue to identify children in need, we invite compassionate individuals to join this transformative journey, ensuring a brighter, self-sufficient future for every child under our care.

We will match you with a child once you fill out your information. Your generosity will help change a child's life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to pay through your website first?

A: Once a sponsored child is matched with you, you can set up monthly recurring sponsorship payments. This can be done by visiting https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=AGB6AGJDBF9BU and entering the required information. Alternatively, you can use the automatic payment system from your bank account. For this, go to the Bill Pay tab within Online Banking and click 'Add a new Pay To Sharing Love in Korea.' After setting up your Pay To account, select the 'Automatic/Recurring payments' link within the Bill Pay tab. Your sponsorship payment will be transmitted directly to the sponsored child's bank account in Korea. The funds will become available to the child when they reach 18 years old or graduate from high school, whichever comes first. They can use these funds for college tuition, vocational programs, or initial living expenses such as a security deposit for an apartment or rent if they leave the Children's Home after turning 18 or after high school graduation.

Q: How long does it usually take to be matched with a child?

A: The matching process typically takes about 2 to 4 weeks. We will send you the child's basic information and photo. We hope you continue your support until the child reaches 18 years old or graduates from high school. At that point, we will notify you that your sponsorship commitment has been fulfilled. However, you may continue sponsoring the child as long as they live at the Children's Home.

Q: Can I choose which orphanage or child I sponsor?

A: You can express a preference for the child's age or gender, but we cannot guarantee these preferences will be met.

Q: How does sponsorship work if it's done by a community group?

A: Your community group has several options. You can donate to and participate in a specific program or make a general contribution. Please refer to the attached document for more details.

Q: Can we send gifts, and if so, how?

A: We have specific guidelines for sponsors and donors. Individual gifts for a child are allowed up to $35, but they must be delivered by SL!K members or someone authorized by SL!K. We cannot guarantee the exact date of delivery for the gift.

Q: Where are the orphanages located, and how can we visit them?

A: Due to privacy laws, we only disclose the exact locations of the Children's Homes to our donors and sponsors. Sinaewon is in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do Province, and Emmanuel is in North Gyeongsang Province. Any sponsor or donor wishing to visit a Children's Home must provide at least two weeks advance notice to SL!K so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
